Disappointing Service

I upgraded my Vodacom Contract just over a week ago online, herewith the series of events that transpired.

04/06/2020 - I received communication from RAM Couriers that my phone was out for delivery, I spoke to an agent at the RAM call centre, who informed me that I could expect my phone delivered by COB, needless to say this did not happen, I sent an e-mail to their customer service department. 05/06/2020 - I again received a communication that my phone was out for delivery, and proceeded to contact the call centre, who informed me that the phone would definitely be delivered by COB, this did not happen. I also did not receive a response to my complaint to the call centre theat I e-mailed about. 06/06/2020 - I received notification that my phone as put for delivery, well this was third time lucky, and I received the phone, which was now 2 days late, which is totally unacceptable.

I proceeded to use the iPhone, after which I got an error message the phone needed to be restored. I took the phone to Apple to ask how to fix this, they informed me that it was a hardware fault and I should contact Vodacom and report as a out of box failure.

I contacted your call centre who informed me that they have to send out a courier to collect the phone, return this to Johannesburg and then start the process over again.

This has totally inconvenienced me: 1.) I had to go and purchase a battery for my older phone, as I would probably be needing it for the forseeable future. An unnecessary expense that could have been avoided if I could just swop my headset at a store. 2.) I ended up losing a lot of personal information as was unable to properly restore my phone.

This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth, from your pathetic courier partners, to the faulty phone, to the what is going to be a tedious process that is probably going to take a good few weeks to resolve.

After being on the Vodacom network for 12 years, this will probably be the last lot of business that I do with Vodacom.
