Disappointing Experience with Vodacom’s Website and Customer Support
On Wednesday, 19 March 2025, I visited the Vodacom website to browse specials when I noticed a promotion on the homepage for a Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra at a once-off cash price of R1,999. Excited by the offer, I clicked on the link intending to purchase two watches—one for myself and one for my wife. However, upon opening the link, the price suddenly changed to R7,809, despite all three color options showing as in stock.
Since it was already evening, I decided to use the Vodacom website’s chatbot the next day (Thursday, 20 March 2025) to enquire whether I could purchase the watches at the advertised price. I was connected to Londiwe Gracias, who informed me that the deal was not available. I requested that the matter be escalated to a manager, and Londiwe took my details, assuring me that someone would contact me.
By 26 March 2025, I had still received no response. I again used the chatbot and was connected to Sisand Bayanda Khwezi, who was unable to assist and claimed that Vodacom does not offer cash prices on the website. However, various once-off prices are clearly listed across the site. The chat was then ended without any resolution. I also noticed that the special for the watch in question had been removed from the homepage.
As a long-standing Vodacom customer, I feel disrespected by the lack of response and failure to honor the advertised price. No one has attended to my price dispute, nor have I been offered any resolution. I have screenshots of the special as advertised and my conversations with Vodacom representatives.
I sincerely hope Vodacom will address this issue and honor the special as advertised, restoring my trust as a loyal customer.
