Disappointed in Vodacom4U Vangate Mall
On the 2nd of April 2018 my phone Huawei P8 Lite was brought into Vodacom4U, Vangate Mall for the following problems: WiFi, Bluetooth and Hotspot not working which is clearly stipulated in the form given to me by one of the staff members. Upon giving my phone into the shop, it was checked by one of the staff members if it could connect to WiFi and Bluetooth, it was also requested that I take the password off the phone, which shows clear evidence that the phone was still in working condition and only had the problems stipulated in the form. I also proceeded to show the staff member evidence that the phone is still under warranty which means that it should have to be fixed for the problems previously mentioned. A week later my mom was contacted (as I currently did not have a phone for her to call me on) by the repair centre by a female named Faiqa, where she told my mom that there is Liquid damage on the phone and it would cost me to get a new handset, my mother asked her to call at 2pm, which she did not do, I proceeded to call her and find out what's happening, she told me about the liquid damage and I questioned how can it happen as the phone was working and it has never been in for repairs? She said by your hand or steam, she then proceeded to ask if I would like a new handset at cost and I said no as there was nothing wrong with the phone and to my knowledge it was still working besides the previously above mentioned problems, I then proceeded to ask if the she would still do the software update and she said yes it would still be done. A few weeks later my mother went in to the (Vodacom4U) to find out if the phone has arrived yet as it had been 4 weeks and no call, one of the staff members said it would arrive in the week, we then called the following Wednesday to find out where the phone is as it is a month and a week had already passed and the staff member Faried said there is nothing on the system about me or the phone, his going to check at the back after nearly 2 hours he called back to say that the phone is there and asked me what it was given in for as there was no papers with it, I told him the problems, he asked me if the phone was still working and going on when I gave it in, I said yes he then said he would see if the problem was fixed and call me back. I waited another 30mins then he called to say it was not fixed and that the phone would need to be sent back as I told him that Faiqa said she would still do the software update, we then came to the store that night to find out why it was not being fixed and he said he would talk to the manager and ask him to phone the following morning (A phone call that was never made) I feel I need to mention that he did not switch the phone on to show that it is working, so I am under the assumption that it might not be, even though I gave in a working phone. I then had to phone the manager as he did not phone me as promised by the staff member, and then came in with my dad that evening to find out what is happening, The manager said he would send the phone back and contact me the next morning to tell me why the phone was not fixed ( Another phone call not made as promised) we then recieved an sms saying the phone was recieved by the repair centre and would be back in 2-3 days, after those expected days no message was recieved about the phone, a week passed and still nothing we then went back to store on Tuesday 23 May 2018 to find out about the phone and it was not there, we asked what time the manager leaves and they said he would be there till 7pm the next day, a staff member said he would phone me which he did not. We went back Wednesday to talk to him and he was not there, we were deeply upset as its nearly 2 months that I am without a phone and no answer as to why it was not fixed, a staff member phoned him to find out and he said that she should make a copy of my documents that was given when I gave the phone in, and to put it on his desk and that he would phone in the morning (which he did not) we then asked and recieved a temporary phone from the staff member to use. My mom then called Clinton the Thursday to find out what is happening and why he hadn't called and he brushed it off saying he was busy and that he would contact Faiqa and find out and also he proceeded to say that the phone is not his responsibility or the stores responsibility as he did not make any promises even though it was handed into the store under warranty. I also asked why can't he get the recording of the phone call as Faiqa told me she would do the software update and he said that use don't record phone calls. He said he was going to email her and call on Monday 28 May 2018 which he did and told my mom that Faiqa said that she did not make any promises and did not say she would fix it, and that his waiting to get in contact with her and that he would phone back (he did not). Faiqa then phoned my mom after Clinton saying the same things, asking how old I am and saying that I maybe I don't understand and also saying that because of the liquid damage she can't do the software update (I'd like to mention that in the first phone call between us, she did not mention that at all, neither was it mentioned by Clinton or any of the Vodacom staff members ) my mom asked her again to phone at 3pm so she could speak to me, she did not. She called my mom again on 31 May 2018 asking if I am going to accept the quote because the phone can not lay there. My mom told her I don't have a phone (as I am not using the phone given to me by Vodacom staff) and to call back at 3pm, she has still not called back. I am extremely upset and disappointed in Vodacom and this situation as it's been nearly two months and nothing has been resolved. I am emailing the head office of Vodacom and lodging in a complaint and would like that they request the phone calls made between Faiqa and I, because she has disregarded the situation and is making me out to be a **** I am also very upset at the attitude she has and the attitude that Clinton displayed when I asked about the phone.I am disappointed in the work ethic of the Vodacom staff at Vodacom4U and with Faiqa at the repair centre, and request that this be resolved as soon as possible. I also emailed him yesterday and he has not answered me.
