Disappointed, frustrated and angry!

I upgraded my cellphone contract at the end of September, received the device all in good order. A few days later I checked my bill and saw that I was being charged duouble my contract amount. I called the 082 111 number and the consultant I spoke with advised that once I've made my monthly payment and the system updates, it will reset to the contract amount. I paid a few days later, waited another few days for the system to up date but nothing changed. I called again and was then advised that I am being charged for the balance of the old contract as well as the new one, a whole 6 months remaining! I disputed this as I was never advised by Vodacom that I would be paying for 2 contracts, I was never advised that the upgrade is premature and simply because I cannot afford it. I had called and sent numerous written requests for the old contract to be purged as I simply cannot afford to pay on 2 contracts and all I got was a generic link to the terms and conditions.

I have been with Vodacom for many years and am current with the account. The upgrade contract now has a 36 month duration and with all of this, Vodacom will still not help by purging the old contract value even though I've renewed and for longer than usual. This is prime example of a big company being a bully and deteriorating my credit score by charging me an amount that I simply cannot afford! I would appreciate if someone could look into this for consideration.
