Disappointed by Vodacom Insurance – Loyalty Means Nothing

I have been a Vodacom Insurance customer since 2020, covering my Huawei Mate 10 Pro under insurance and never missing a payment. Recently, when my phone went missing, I reached out to file a claim, expecting support from a company I’ve trusted for years. However, Vodacom declined my claim because the phone didn’t have a SIM card installed, citing a clause in the contract.

Yes, the clause may be there, but this was an older phone that was primarily used on WiFi and didn’t need a SIM card. It’s disappointing to see Vodacom lean on technicalities to avoid providing genuine support. They’re quick to take premiums but equally quick to find ways to deny claims. I’ve paid faithfully for years, yet the moment I need assistance, they’re unwilling to help.

The account holder and I reached out both in-store and over the phone, hoping someone would show some understanding or flexibility, especially given our loyalty. Instead, we were met with indifference and told there was nothing they could do.

It’s extremely disappointing to realize that Vodacom is not a company that values long-term customers or seeks to provide real support. If this is how they handle loyal customers, I see no reason to continue paying for this “insurance.” If this claim isn’t resolved, we’ll be canceling every insured device.

If you’re considering Vodacom Insurance, be warned – read every line in the contract because Vodacom will cling to any loophole to avoid honoring your claim.
