Disappointed at Vodacom
My dad passed away on 30 Jul 2019. Since his passing I've been in contact with Vodacom to establish how many contracts he had, etc. and what would be the way forward.
I was asked to email his death certificate which I did. I was later told that my dad had two Vodacom contracts - one which could be cancelled and one which was to be transferred on my name and then cancelled. This was after numerous calls to the Vodacom call centers. Eventually I was told that my dad's contract cover on the contract that he could not cancel is no longer valid as the contract was transferred and I am unable to cancel the contract!
I am so shocked at the incompetence of the Vodacom staff. I have not had any resolution when I asked for this matter to be escalated. I have spent hours in total on the phone trying to resolve this with Vodacom.
Essentially I know now that my dad had two contracts. I am happy that the one contract was able to be cancelled. I am comfortable that the other contract had Vodacom Contract Cover which promises to cover the contract balance in the event of death. My dad's contract was up to date and in order. Why did Vodacom not advise me that the Vodacom Contract Cover would cover my dad's contract balance? Why have they still not covered and cancelled my dad's contract? Why was I advised by Vodacom to transfer the contract to my name in the first place? Why have they not cancelled the contract after the transfer as promised if that was the procedure to follow? How can a contract be transferred in the first place if the contract holder has passed away - Is his permission not required? Why is no one contacting me to resolve this issue?
I have mailed Vodacom and called numerous times explaining this situation. I need resolution as I am extremely frustrated and 3 months has already passed!
I am a Vodacom client for over 10 years and I've been on the Red Package for the past few years. I expect efficient and professional service as I am accustomed to receive from Vodacom. I can't believe the terrible service and no attempt to resolve my query that I am now receiving from Vodacom during this very difficult time.
Please assist as a matter of urgency!
I have not yet been contacted by any Vodacom consultant in an attempt to resolve this matter.

I was advised that the relevant department (i.e. the legal department) does not have a HelloPeter response team and the best course of action would be to go into the store and get help myself. Another run around for me with no customer service from Vodacom. I reached out because I was not getting resolution by my own effort but now again the ball is in my court albeit onus lying with Vodacom.
