Disappearing airtime : Vodacom subscription ****
My query with Vodacom, ref number 1- ********** ********** refers:
After weeks of struggling to find out why my airtime was disappearing, I finally live-chatted to a lady called Alana who informed me: a) Itemised billing must be activated b) Itemised billing data only starts to be logged from date of activation c) An itemised billing report can only be provided 30 days later
Not ONE of the MANY Vodacom staff I had interacted with before knew this - in fact some straight out **** to me and said the report had been emailed to me.
Alana advised me that a VLIVE subscription called ANDRO GAMES had been activated on my account in January 2018. Firstly, I am too tech-savvy to fall for a WASP subscription, and secondly not even the 'all-knowing' Google has ever heard of Andro Games!
Alana phoned me back later, and advised me that this error was on 'Vodacoms side' and that a dispute had been raised and forwarded to their 'back office'.
In the meantime, Vodacom was going to refund me R100 in lieu of the problems I had experienced, and as a pro-rata refund on all the unauthorised deductions that had been made from my airtime in the 5 months.
On 21st May I received an update via SMS from Vodacom ( ********** 011) stating that the investigation was still in progress.
On the 22nd May 2018, I received another SMS from the same number advising me that the query has now been closed!
This is very suspicious....
I wonder how many Vodacom customers have been caught in the same **** and how much is being milked from their accounts in total.
The fact that I am a pensioner and have to count every penny is the only reason I discovered this anomaly and then pursued the matter until I got an answer.
It seems that only when this happens, the **** is stopped and the victim given a little sweetener to make them go away.
Well, I shall not rest until this matter is properly investigated and all outstanding airtime is refunded.
In the meantime I shall use every forum available to warn Vodacom customers to be on the look-out for this ****, and try to assist them to get the unauthorised subscription cancelled. Each one will then have to raise a dispute with Vodacom to effect the refund of lost (or ******) airtime.
