Difficult to determine data usage on Wifi Package and even more difficult to get help from Customer Care!

I signed up for a 5G data with router contract with Vodacom during January. First it wouldn't work necessitating three calls, with only the third consultant informing me my RICA information was still going through. Then my data, which I used for my phone, ran out before month end and on calling Vodacom I was informed that I had only been given a pro rata share of data as I didn't start at the beginning of the month, being 2.5 GB. Fair enough, although it would have been niced to have been warned.

In February I connected to the internet using my computer for the first time . After only being on for a few minutes I went on to the Vodaphone wif mobi app I downloaded to my phone, which reflected usage of 3.57GB. What could this mean as I only have 5 GB for the month?!

On calling Vodacom today (after refraining from further use), I was informed by Salice (after being put on hold twice so that she could make enquiries) that she could see 4.99 GB is due to me on my account, but 3.57 GB is the'usage' on my data. I kept pressing her as to what 'usage' she meant, considering I have only 5GB and these two figures add up to more than 5GB. She said this would probably be left over data, however I pointed out that I had used up my alotment the month before.

She then said she would put me through to someone else to 'log a call'. However the line simply went through to a Vodacom request to rate the service - I gave a 1 for dismal, after which this was confirmed back to me and then the same request to rate the service simply started playing again - no way to exit and get back to a consultant.

Sadly Vodacom has 'temporarily replaced' its email service with the 'aim to respond to customer's queries quicker, by directing customers back to Customer Care 111 number. So there is no way to actually escalate an issue if your query has been badly managed. I really cannot be bothered to phone back all over again and explain all over again to another first line consultant.

Why can't Vodacom institute an escalation of complaints line, with the first consultant being mandatorily required to provide a reference to enable escalations?
