Differing Information at various stores

I have a simcard only contract- uChoose Flexi 50. I am 18 months into the contract with 6 months remaining. I want to cancel this contract (I dont mind paying the cancellation fee) and get a new contract immediately (on the same number) that comes with a cellphone and package that suits my needs. Vodacom Cresta says I need to wait 6 months after a cancellation of an existing contract to get a new contract on the same number. Vodacom Campus Square says I should wait 3 months and Vodacom Rosebank says I can get the contract immediately. Why are the different stores giving me different answers? Can I just get the correct information so I know where I stand with this existing contract?
