I purchased a Huawei Mate 20 Pro from a Vodacom outlet last year March. The entire experience thereafter makes me feel like I was **** to and betrayed by a network that I once always defended and was proud of.
The first incident was when my phone fell and unfortunately got damaged (cracked front and back). I took the unit in as I have insurance, all was fine and dandy until I got a call informing me that I was under-insured for my device. I received a quote a +-R5500 to repair the device. The insurance Vodacom had supp**** me with was only willing to cover R2500.
According to the insurance the salesman had to explain this to me in detail. This never happened. Why would I under insure such a expensive device????? It does not make sense!!!! I trusted this man that he had was doing his job right and clearly he was not. All the store could say was, you signed the documents.....
I work with clients on a daily basis and always explain every pro and con based on the decisions they make (even if it costs the sale) honesty should always be the number one factor.
However after just loosing my sister, I had no energy to fight with this company, knowing that it was wrong what had happened. I took my cell phone back in the state that it was and continued on.
Then TODAY!!!!!!!
I decided to purchase a Rain sim card as I have started studying online and need to do constant research. Vodacom having its extremely high data charges I needed to invest in something a little more affordable. Knowing my cell phone has a dual function as the sales person told me, I confidently ordered it and it arrived.
I insert the sim and nothing happens, this leaves me baffled. I call Huawei directly as I think nah fault cant be on Vodacoms end, Huawei informs me that Vodacom blocks this function on their devices. Now remember I asked the salesman about this and he advised it has dual sim.
Then I call Vodacom and the lady tells me she doesnt know if they can help me but I can call repairs and CW IT for assistance. Call repairs I dont get through, call the store I purchased from I dont get through (numerous times). Then I call CW and speak to a very friendly chap Musaadiek, great customer service, managed to calm me down.
However; He cant help either.
My question to Vodacom is this....... Do you as a multi billion rand enterprise expect me to pay for another device to use my Rain sim? After all the anguish and humiliation, thinking ive purchased a fantastic device from an even better company.
My heart is broken honestly.
I am speechless when it comes to referencing how I feel about Vodacom right now. the service I recieved from Giovanni that now no longer works for your company, was devious and downright dirty.
Extremely disappointed.
