Device with Factory Fault

Both my contract with Vodacom are due for upgrade, I therefore went into your Rosebank Mall shop to do an upgrade on one of my contracts where I took a Samsung S6 edge.

On opening the box and switching on the phone I found the device has a black dot on the side of the screen and that it doesn't charge. I then showed it to the consultants who then told me it has to be booked in for repairs and will take up to 7 days, I found this to be very dissatisfactory reason being that I have not had the device for 12 hours, I have not even used or inserted a sim card for that matter.

Now! I went to do an upgrade to get a new phone and not to get a device that has a factory fault that I have to now pay the consequence of waiting for it to be repaired. Not only do I find this type of conduct distasteful but unfair to someone who has been with Vodacom for many years.

Not only do I regret the decision to go and do an upgrade to the extent that I intend on cancelling my other contract as this is not the kind of service or conduct I want to deal with.

While I understand there are rules and regulations when a person takes out a contract, I believe this one is either not being carried out
