Despicable service and no solution in sight
On the 15th of January the monthly debit order on my mother's cellphone account went through, but unsuccessfully due to a change in payment date. I then proceeded to make a payment at Vodacom, Mall of the North in Polokwane on the 06th of January, after being made aware of the arrears amount. The account still reflected arrears and would be so even till the debit order on the 15th of February. By then Vodacom had locked all numbers and they could neither receive nor make calls/send texts, etc...
As the 15th was a Friday, Vodacom had to wait till the next week in order to receive bank confirmation of the successful debit order. Somewhere around the 18th of February, we called Vodacom when there was suddenly a different message when one tried to call any of the numbers. The message seemed to suggest that the numbers were now deleted. Indeed Vodacom had deleted the numbers on the day they received confirmations, instead of reconnecting the numbers...
As we speak, the numbers were reconnected (AFTER 3 WEEKS OF CALLING DAILY), upgrades done on the numbers (*******LY), even those that were already on a month-to-month contract status and she now has 3 upgrades but no devices. There was then another ******* request to cancel one of the contracts, which resulted in arrears due to the cancellation amount.
We called to request a reversal of that cancellation, but Vodacom continues to treat us with absolute apartheid-style contempt and hatred and refuses to reverse that. As I speak they have now blocked the numbers again DUE TO AN ARREARS AMOUNT WHICH THEY ADMIT IS NOT OUR FAULT!!!
There are several issues here: 1. How do you delete numbers due to arrears of less than 30 days? 2. Why does it take 3 weeks to reconnect them? 3. Why were upgrades done instead of restoring previous packages? 4. Why do you not revert back to initial contract termination dates instead of subjecting her to new 24 month contract periods? 5. Where are the devices? 6. Why can you not cancel the request for early termination? 7. Why do you subject her to abuse of being soft/hard locked? 8. Who is going to account for the bad record on her credit score?
Furthermore, there was a device insured under her previous profile and she is now unable to make a claim, because there is no record of insurance, as it was deleted with the previous profile.
This is completetely unacceptable and very disappointing...
DEAR VODACOM, YOU OWE HER ANSWERS, SOLUTIONS, EXPLANATIONS AND AN APOLOGY.
