DESPERATE/DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER

I have been a very loyal customer of Vodacom for approx. 30 yrs and never missed a single payment. On the 10/10/2018 I was telephonically contacted by a consultant from Vodacom offering me a data contract for 24 mths. Being very busy at work I agreed to confirm the offer on the express understanding that should I not be happy with this contract I have the legal right to call and cancel the said contract. Upon receipt of the contract and sim card I within the prescribed period called Vodacom and cancelled the contract. I was told to discard the contract and cut up the sim card with cell no ***, which I duly did. Much later the ff yr on the 23/9/2019 I was contacted under the similar circumstances and sold 2 data contracts with cell no's *** and *** respectively on the same terms and understanding that should I not be happy, I have the rights to cancel the contracts. Upon receipt of these contracts and after consulting with my son who is an IT Specialist, I subsequently contacted Vodacom and cancelled both contracts and I was told once again to dispose off the docs and cut up the sim cards. My normal contract, cell no *** expired at the end of March 2020 and since I was unemployed I did not renew my contract with Vodacom. I called and instructed them to cancel my contract and convert same to pre-paid. Over the yrs I have been receiving my monthly statements from Vodacom on my phone and being busy all the time I did not have time to scrutinise my account and payment was timeously me every month via debit order. Now that I am unemployed and the fact that my cell is on pre-paid I noticed that my account is still very high. I contacted Vodacom on several occasions only to be told that there is nothing they can do cos I have had and still have contracts with them. I have reiterated to them that I was told to cut up the sim cards and that I have not used a single penny of the data contracts and who in their right frame of mind will pay for something every month without making use of any data. Just as the 3 contracts in question was confirmed telephonically and I did not sign any contracts, in the same vein my telephone call to Vodacom cancelling these contracts are legally valid. Vodacom refuses to entertain my plea that I want refund of all my moneys, more especially now that I am unemployed and that they have been *******ly debiting my account every month. Please be advised that unless ALL moneys that have been debited from my account since the inception of all 3 contracts are refunded to me, I will have no option but to take this matter up with CPA or Ombudsman and I will consider going to the press.
