Designed to fold, but please don't fold too many times.........

I opted to take the Z-fold 3 just as it was launched even though I had my concerns about the longevity of a folding screen. I had the phone for about 6 weeks (November 2021) when the phone slipped from my hand while getting out of the car resulting in damage to the phone casing (front, bottom right). I eventually got a cover at Samsung and since the phone was still in a perfectly working condition I saw no reason to have the damage to the casing repaired. During last month (June) the middle screen developed a black line right in the middle of the screen on the fold. I took the phone in for repairs and was advised that It is Vodacom's policy to do all repairs and not just the part that is malfunctioning. The fact of the matter remains that the malfunctioning of the screen was caused by wear and tear but, due to physical damage to the phone the warranty is void and they are taking no responsibility. My argument with them was that the issue with the screen is due to opening and closing of the phone, something the phone was DESIGNED for. This is a manufacturers issue. If the screen was damaged by the fall or the bump in Nov / Dec 2021, then the middle screen would have packed up then already and not 18 months later. All I want is for the middle screen to be replaced. Nothing else. Not repairing the damage to the phone that I take responsibility for. Only repair the middle screen that is malfunctioning due to manufacturing standards. I am not willing to accept poor craftsmanship as my responsibility. The damage to the phone has got NOTHING to do with the malfunctioning of the screen. The damage to the phone happened in Nov/ Dec 2021 and the screen malfunctioned in June 2023. Vodacom is refusing to repair only the middle screen and wants me to pay for all the repairs even though the phone, with exclusion of the middle screen is working perfectly. The damage to the phone in Nov 2021 had NO IMPACT on the functionality of the device and now that the DEVICE malfunctioned due to a MANUFACURERS issue they expect me to carry the cost? . It?s as good as me wanting to replace a headlight on my car and the manufacturer telling me to have the bumper repaired first! I simply cannot understand how they can get away with treating customers this way. This is NOT treating customers fairly!
