Deplorable business ethics, shown by supposed industry leaders.

I really did want not want to go the Hello Peter route, in fact when Vodacom overcharged my account with R1900, I still did not go this route, but then *****ed Vodacom struck again, robbing me two times in less than a month, I decided that I cannot let this go.

Incident One:

My contract costs R899 a month and I have a pay as you go account, that I can always top up, which I prefer, so that I do not get any nasty suprises.

Come end November, my bank account was debited with R2700 and according to *****ed Vodacom, this was because I activated a recurring data bundel and I was charged pro forma for this and the amount came to R1900. With no confirmation message, which *****ed Vodacom always sends, the whole incident left a very bad taste in my mouth.

I still believe I did not activate this but *****ed Vodacom insists. I explained that if I had gotten a confirmation message, I would have immediately cancelled this service but once again *****ed Vodacom insists that they did send one, which I know they did not receive one, maybe this is a testament to the state of their network...

I actually have proof of purchases going back to September 2015 when I first got my phone, as I do not delete any messages. Very convenient that *****ed Vodacom sends messages when it pleases them, bringing me to incident two.

Incident Two:
So due to *****ed Vodacom loading a recurring bundle on my account without my knowledge, I had also purchased a once off data bundle, giving me 40 gigs of data…

I am a high data user so I can understand that I can deplete this data but normally *****ed Vodacom alerts me that my bundle is almost depleted… Today, I did not get any messages to tell me that my data is completed leading me to deplete my airtime of R500, at a great price of R2 per meg. Absolutely disgusting business practise.

*****ed Vodacom, you are *******, you ***** from the little guy to line your pockets. Half of the time your network is unusable, due to the unstable nature of your mobile network. One day your day will come but till then I cannot wait to complete the contract that I have with you and get as far away from you as possible, to think, I was considering using “Vodacom Business”, luckily dodged that bullet. Disgusted.

Vodacom came out on top with this. I commend the professional manner in which they resolved my complaint. What happened, happened but by hearing me out and listening to my problems, Vodacom were able to assist me and rectify the problem.

I have to applaud Vodacom as they have completely resolved my issue. I understand that technical problem do occur, this is inevitable but how these issues are dealt with reflect the companies intentions and ethics. Like I stated above Vodacom handled this extremely well.

I also would like to thank the service consultant who managed to sort this out over the festive season, this is highly appreciated.

Vodacom I commend and thank you.
