A few months ago I cancelled one of my Vodacom contracts because my son wanted to take a contract in his name ( sadly he chose Vodacom). A month after the cancellation the contract was renewed **********ly. I went through all the Vodacom processes of affidavits, contacting their ***** line, etc but they refused to cancel the contract and the debit order continued to go through. Literally dozens of phone calls didn't help. I eventually found the number of their regional office in Durban and a manager there helped to cancel it. She also said she would arrange a refund of 3 months of subscription (approx. R2500). This refund has not come through. Apparently it was credited to my Vodacom account - an account I have closed. How stupid is this? The normal helplines cannot solve this and I eventually got through to the accounts helpline. Either these people are a bunch of idiots or there is a deliberate plot to frustrate you and avoid refunds. They have asked me to email my bank statements, they have asked me to fax my bank statements, each time its a different story and it sounds well planned and rehe****d. On a few occasions they have just put the phone down on me. They even promise to phone you back once they have received your bank statement. It's been more than a month since I first tried to get this refund and I have given up trying to use the established Vodacom channels. Of course, it's impossible to find a contact number of a manager to escalate this. I did find a customer service email. The response was so stupid and illogical it's obvious that the person replying did not have the slightest understanding of their own processes. I was so dumbfounded that I didn't even respond to the email I received.
