defective phone

I have a contract for an s6 edge with vodacom I have had endless reception issues the phone only works in certain places when I called vodacom they said to change the setting which doesn't help much it does not connect to the Internet at home yet my other phone works fine, my question why should I purchase such an expensive phone that doesn't work and also why would vodacom sell the phone to customers?
