Declined Vodacom insurance device claim
My claim was declined by vodacom insurance because the contract sim card that is insured with the phone was on port 2 in the dual sim phone and they say is supposed to be on port 1 and be used as sim 1. The one that was on port 1 was just a data sim card that I never even used to receive or make calls. But nowhere on their insurance policy they specified that the sim card that came with the phone should be on port 1 and be used as sim 1 it just says the sim card that came with the phone should be in the phone.
When I called vodacom customer care to block the phone requesting the ICT number they asked for the phone number and I gave them the phone number that is on port 2 which came with the phone and they could block the phone using that number because on the system the phone it showed that the sim card was in the device if it wasn't they won't even be able to block the device using that number. If the sim card was not in the phone the customer care was not even gonna be able to block the phone using my number.
The phone is a dual sim which means it can carry two sim cards and I bought a dual sim phone because I have two numbers that I use and the phone played that role.
The sim card on port 1 shows on their system that it has no activities of making or receiving calls. The sim card on port 2 has activities of receiving and making calls and buying airtime which is the one that came with the phone. Vodacom system can attest to that. So I do not understand why my claim was declined because I clearly used that sim card on that phone. And the other one was clearly just stored in the phone.
