Deceptive Marketing

I was at the vodashop to upgrade my contract. After much debate, talk and reading up on the different phones with the sales person, I decided to go with the Huawei P9 lite. This is a nano dual sim phone, and one of the newer on the market. After disussing the different ways of mananaging a dual sim, we got to doing the contract. I got my new phone, and off I went. So far, so good. That was where the good stopped. I installed the dual sims, and powered up the phone...only reads one sim.

The next day, it was back to vodacom, where I was told that vodacom does not sell dual sim phones at all. I then contacted Huawei, and was asked one simple question. "Did you get the phone from Cell C, or vodacom?" I was then told by them that vodacom does not sell dual sim phones.

Had I known that in the first place, I would have taken my business elsewhere. I would like to know from vodacom why they feel they need to lie to their customers.

I feel this is a breach of my contract, as I have been given something under false pretences, and it is not what I asked for. I believe there are a few rights in the Consumer Protection Act, Act 68 of 2008 that are not being adhered to. Would be nice to hear what vodacom has to say on the issue.
