DECEIVED BY A VODACOM TELEPHONE SALESMAN.

I am expierencing a very unacceptable situation with VODACOM. (My Acc No is: ***3-1) As follows:

On 10 Dec'15, I was approched by a Vodacom telephone salesman who offered me new and faster internet "Roamers" for the two laptops we use at home. After long discussions I accepted the "special offer" for these devices as they would cost me R200:00 pm less than my present contract of R783:00 pm. After a week or two the devices were delivered to our home, as Order No. ***0.

Come the 29th of Jan'16, an amount of R1001:00 was deducted from my bank account as payment for VODACOM. So, instead of paying R583:00 for my whole Vodacom account as indicated and arranged by the sales person, I paid R218:00 more than my old account.

I immediately (on the 29th), took this up with "Vodacom Customer Care" and after having to submit and explain my complaint twice to the duty VODACOM personnel (which I had to follow up a few times), I was eventually contacted by a Trinah Taodzera on 15 Feb'16 saying that she agrees, after listening to the tapes made during the conversation with the salesman, that I in fact was mislead into this contract.

On the same day (the 15th), I received a telephone call from a Balungile Qwabe - followed up by an e-mail on 16 Feb'16 - that I was to courier the two devices to a certain Kimona Pilly, of a company by the name of MONDO. (It seemed as if MONDO handeled Customer Care issues on behalf of Vodacom). This I did on 17 Feb'16 and waited for the matter to be resolved.

On 1 Mar'16 the faulty amount of R1001:00 was again deducted in the favour of VODACOM. I appoached Ms Qwabe on the same day enquiering why this had happened again. I received no answer from her. On 4 Mar'16 I sent a further e-mail as follow up on the e-mail of 1 Apr. I now received a telephone call from Ms Pillay stating that they, at MONDO, have received no proof that I did in fact return the two devices. I now had to e-mail proof of despatching the devices and a signiture that somebody at MONDO had received the devices. I obtained this from the courier service and sent it off on 7Mar'16. I received acknowlegement on the same day that everything was now in order and they would now start with the cancellation of the wrongfull contract.

Having heard nothing by 28 Mar'16, I followed up again by e-mail enquiering what the situation was at that time. I received no answer from either Qwabe or Pillay and on 31 Mar'16, the 3rd wrongfull amount in favour of VODACOM was deducted from my account.

On 1 Apr'16 I sent an e-mail indicating that I was now rather fedup with the situation as nobody seemed to be doing anything, except to wrongfully take my money for items I have not had in my possesion for weeks. I also followed up by telephone on my e-mail of 1 Apr, enquiering from Ms Pillay if they were receiving my correspondence at all, as I received no replies. She acknowleged that they did receive my e-mails and that she would follow up and inform me by the end of the day what progress had been made. Needless to say I never heard a word from her.

On 4 Apr'16 I telephoned Ms Pillay to enquiere about the feedback she promised on 1 Apr. Now she could not remember me or the situation that I was involved in. I had to do a re-explanation of the whole affair. She did however say that everything was referred to VODACOM for their action. She would send me a VODACOM reference number. I received nothing and, a week later (on 11 Mar'16), I phoned again to try and determine what was happening. She could now give me the Reference No. as follows: EC-04VF-2PXZEJ. She again undertook to let me know by the end of the 11th Apr what progress there was between MONDO and VODACOM i.r.o. my situation.

And, as usual, by the 12th of Apr'16, I heard nothing from Ms Pillay - up untill today I have heard nothing from anyone - not MONDO nor VODACOM. I have copies of all relevant documents and e-mails as proof of this report.

And, at the end of Apr'16, the 4th amount of R1001:00 was deducted from my account in the favour of VODACOM.

What am I to do, Sir, to get a fair hearing and to get the monies back owed to me by VODACOM - deductions, e-mails, courier fairs and for the unfair and bad treatment received by the said company. How can I ever recommend them to any one?

ALEX CLARK.

***.
