Deceit, Lies and Sabotage

A few years ago, I experienced a set back in my business and as a result, could not fully service all my accounts. After 3 months however, all returned to normal and my Vodacom account was settled in full by me, at which point, I asked for my number to be reactivated or connected.

I was told categorically, on an email by a Vodacom official, that it was NOT possible, since THEY (Vodacom) had "permanently deleted" my number from the system. I was then advised to engage them on a new contract and a new number. Let's bear in mind that I had that number for about 17 years till then, with ALL my clients having record of that as my contact number.

About 3 months later, I was called by a client / friend of mine, asking why some stranger was answering my cell phone, only to discover, that Vodacom, had reissued my old number to a new customer, despite my request to have access to same, plus their insistance that it was permanetly deleted off their system!!

This is tantamount to sabotage actually and I intend on following a legal path in search of a resolve. The customers I lost as result are numerous. This simply cannot be tolerated and the consumer is often left to feel powerless, however, my determination is real and I intend pushing this to the bitter end.
