Deceased estate and continuation of account.
My father sadly died, he had an account for his landline and WiFi with Vodacom. Even though we sent through proof of my fathers death and instructions to contact the executor of the will (twice! to two different email addresses) that we wanted to continue this account in my mothers number on the 7 September 2018, and paid the monthly account today (20 September) my mother was cut off this morning. After holding for 45 minutes I finally got through to the legal department. I was told nothing had been received and they were waiting for proof of my fathers death. The executor also called and was told that Vodacom will neither deny or confirm that the emails were received, and that the more we email the more attention our situation will get. We were told that the emails haven’t been handed to an agent yet and that it would only be dealt with once that happens. I find it quite bizarre that we want to pay and continue a service and NO ONE is interested in assisting us. In the meantime my mother has no internet or landline. We have 2 reference numbers for the emails sent on the 7/08. I find the service appalling. I’ll be interested to see if anyone from Vodacom gets in touch with us, preferably someone in a managerial position, to assist us.
