Debited twice! I should not be paying penalties!

First, some background.

I have Contracts with both Vodacom and MTN, none of which have I missed a payment with.

On the 31st December, I had left the money in my bank account from which my debit orders would be taken. However, Vodacom debited my account twice. They notified me of this fact on my WiFi sim card, apologising, they stated that they would give a refund of the amount as well as any charges caused by the error.

This played havoc with my other debit orders as there was not enough money left for MTN to debit their fees, causing MTN to charge me a R115 penalty fee!

This would not have happened if Vodacom had not made their double debit order, so why should I be paying MTN this extra money! They ended up refunding me on Monday the 4th January, however, they only refunded me the duplicate debit order!

I expect bank charges for the transaction, as well as MTN's penalty fee to be paid. Or, at least, feedback from Vodacom regarding what the fees involved with the error entail.

Alas, all I received was a 500MB Apology gift on 6/01, which expires in 7 days. No thanks, Vodacom. Now I have to run around sorting out my accounts because of YOUR error!

Very frustrated and upset
