Debited more than usual

I was having difficulty with my current device and called in to upgrade it or confirm if I could request for an early upgrade. The first person to whom I spoke advised that this could not be done. I decided to try again and was assisted by a very helpful consultant who really seemed to want to improve my client experience and retain me as a customer. I was advised that this would be escalated to confirm if a premature upgrade could be done. This was in fact done and approved by someone senior within Vodacom who even called me personally. This was the manager of the cancellations team. I was debited this morning with an amount that was higher than normal and when contacting the call centre I was informed that this was for my previous device. How can this be? No one ever advised that I would be debited more. If that was the case, I would not have continued with the early upgrade as who can incur that expense without budgeting for it. Kindly investigate the upgrade and reverse the additional amount taken from me.

Will someone please phone me instead of emailing me. I do not want to cancel my contract. Please understand my query instead of emailing me nonsense.

I was contacted by a lady who very abruptly shoved contract terms and conditions on me. While I understand there will be terms and conditions this was not messaged to me during my upgrade. I did not acknowledge any quotation either.

I requested the call recordings for my upgrade because if there is a condition that a customer needs to pay for the device for a full 24months then it needs to be messaged and upgrades should not be offered in month 21 under the guise there will be payments for only the new device. This is how it was for my previous 3 upgrades.

I fear customer service is no longer a priority based on this experience and the abrupt phone call I received which showed no empathy towards my query. I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years but my image of vodacom has been *****ed.

Lindi from vodacom contacted me after listening to the call recordings and i have been credited. Thank you very much for taking the time to check this problem and resolve it.

Be wary when doing upgrades!
