Debit Order - Nasty experience
Debit Order tried to go through the day before it is supposed to which resulted in numerous unpaid fees and recoup fees etc. Vodacom sms'ed me with payment details and I committed to pay the funds on a specific date. I could not find the information (I do not have an app or access to Vodacom on internet). I unfortunately lost the number to make an alternative arrangement.
I hoped to be contacted again but this was not the case.
My services were accordingly suspended without notifying me or following up or contacting me.
My debit order is for R197.50.
This morning Vodacom billed my account for R495.00 (this is 2x payments - i.e. they have recouped the debit order previously and billed me for Feb (with suspended services)) and R100 extra (for mahala).
(1) Why no contact or notification to suspend my services (disgusting service plus you have left me vulnerable in emergencies) (2) Why can Vodacom just amend whatever they want and send through banking accounts (3) R100? Admin fee - am I now going to have to pay a reconnection fee as well? (4) My debit orders should not go off before the date agreed upon (5) How can I cancel my contract or carry over to another provider and keep my existing number?
I will be discouraging all my friends and family and will shortly put this complaint on social media, to not engage in contracts with Vodacom. MTN is offering way better deals, value for money, are more client friendly, send more communications/notifications and more innovative products.
