Debit order for terminated contract

I requested a quote from Vodacom to terminate my contract early January 2024 via the customer service line. On 06/01/24 I went to a vodacom branch and told them I'd like to terminate my contract and would like to pay the quote i was emailed. The lady at the sort generated a quote from her system which matched mine and I asked her if it will cover balance of what was due for the balance of the contract term. The lady said yes and I agreed to pay as per quote. I also asked her if my fibre contract will be effected by this termination of cell contract and she said no which I was happy about.

Today I was debited for that contract which was terminated. I haven't used that number since, the remaining data, minutes and sms bundles were forfeited. Why did I have to pay? Why was I not informed that I will have to pay for a month after my contract was terminated? Why was it not included in the quote? Are your staff not trained properly to answer all your customers queries?
