Call Centre - Confused at how to proceed, tells me to drop off device at my local Vodacom branch.

4.)20th June - Return device to branch, I'm told that even though it's within 7days it must still be sent to be inspected and confirm that I didn't drop it in water etc... This will take 10 Working Days.

5.)1 July - I receive no contact after 10 Working days so I go into branch and they tell me to hold on - I wait 45mins while they check if it is broken and they tell me I need to get a credit/refund and this will happen so I should return on Tuesday the following week.

6.) 5th July - Arrive on Tuesday 4pm and told that refund/credit has still not been passed but will now contact me when this happens.

Can someone please tell me what is going on and who or what needs a credit/refund for a device I received dead on arrival?

I just want my tablet now!

Terrible experience

Update: July 6th 2016

Received call from Vodacom Support.

The refund request is with accounts and this will take a further 7 working days.

Bringing the total time from dropping off the dead tablet:

A ridiculous 25 Days - do you think this is fair?

If I was Vodacom I would have got the courier to drop off a new tablet as it was within the 7day window and IF they determined that the fault was ours then added the bill to the account. I still don't understand why a refund must be passed on a contract when the device needs to be replaced?
