I have had a contract with vodacom for a number of years. I have always kept within my data usage and have never gone over or even bought data for that matter. In December 2016 my data was used up the first two weeks of receiving it. I only knew I ran out of data because my husband received an SMS that my data was finished ( why he receives the message I don't know). I then went onto my App to check saw that there were 0MB of data left, however my bill was already R60 more than usual! I found this very suspicious as I had only just received that SMS, how could R60 just go off so quickly? I then proceeded to put on R59 worth of data which was 250MB, within half an hour 100MB was taken off. I then panicked and turned off my cellular data. This was saturday 17th December. I went to vodacom at Irene mall on the Sunday the 18th, they said they can't help me I need to go to the I store. I went to the I store on Monday the 19th with my husband. They ran a diagnostic on my phone and confirmed that there was nothing wrong all that was need was a software update. My cellular data was turned off from the late afternoon of the 17th to late afternoon of the 19th. My bill was sitting at R389 when I turned my data off (I store used their wifi to do my software update). When I turned my cellular data back on my bill was R759!! How on earth could nearly R400 worth of data come off my phone while my cellular data was off! And I still had 88MB of data on my phone at that time. I went to vodacom and they said they can't help me ( as per usual, can they help at all?), I need to wait until the 3rd and then query it. I did just that, I went in to vodacom Irene mall, it was the suggested that I phone accounts. I have phoned accounts 3 times and everytime I feel I'm getting no where! I have been pleasant and calm considering the circumstances and I've sent through the job number of the software update of my phone and still I haven't heard from them. I am a mother to an 11.5month old child, I need to feed my child and provide for him, I don't have an extra R400 to give vodacom for data I know I didn't use. I am so disappointed in the service I have received, I have gone ahead and migrated to a pay as you go from the 1st of February as I don't want vodacom debiting unnecessarily from my account. Even a consultant at the vodacom branch told me they have upgraded or changed their system and I'm not the only one complaining about this, so why are they not doing anything about it? I am considering dropping them as my cellphone network for the future. I am still awaiting feedback from vodacom regarding my queries and it's nearly a month later!
