Data Upgrade - No Honouring of Contract

I received a phone call to upgrade my data contract (as well as my cellphone contract) during December. The person on the line said that if I upgraded I would receive a HP15 i3 laptop. When the delivery arrived I noticed that on the box the delivery note attached said HP15 Celeron. I did not open the box because I realised there was a mistake. I attempted phoning the upgrades department (they have an option for returns) a few times and only managed to get through today (after 10 minutes of waiting on the phone!).

Once I got through and was transferred once or twice to get the correct department (I was told it's not the Upgrades department but the Rewards department I need to speak to), I spoke to someone who first, without checking anything told me that I could not have phoned the Upgrades department because they were open the entire holiday period. I challenge this and kindly ask Vodacom to check my phone records. I'm not sure how she came to this conclusion without checking this regardless. Once we got into the conversation regarding the laptop, she told me that the laptop would be picked up in a few days (7-10 days) and that I would then have to phone Vodacom to reverse the contract. She said that on the system it did say HP15 Celeron and thus had to be reversed. I have no access to that system but only have the contract I agreed to over the phone. This definitely said i3 as I mentioned and confirmed with the person on the phone. She also said I would have to phone Vodacom after 3 days for me to reverse the contract. Why should I waste my time for a incorrect delivery, a mistake on Vodacom's side, especially when it takes so long in the first place to get through to Vodacom. I questioned this and she said that they don't know when the item is returned.

I don't understand why the contract needs to be reversed (as I explained to the person on the phone). It is purely an incorrect delivery and ask for what was agreed to over the phone (the original person said that the agreement could only be made over the phone). Given the conversation today with the person regarding the contract, I would also like the recorded version of what was agreed to. Vodacom does not have an email address that I can send this request to and I am not sure which department to speak to (possibly the Rewards department but how do you call them and will it take another 10 minutes just to get through only to be told it's the wrong department to speak to???).

I am thankful for a place like Hellopeter in order to voice my complaint. I will also post on Twitter, Facebook and any other channel that I might find to see if I can get a response there.

Feedback provided but issue not resolved as yet. Vodacom has not commented at all when the correct delivery will be made and I'm not sure if they still charging me for the laptop in the interim. The incorrect deliver was picked mid-week last week. Not sure who to speak to and Vodacom seemed doubtful themselves. Was promised that someone from Vodacom Rewards department would call me as that's who initially (as I have been told) called me but nothing from them as yet. Not sure what to do or what's happening. Have spoken to 5 or 6 departments thus far and no one's really committed to taking action. Also, I've asked for the recording of the original contract, this has not been provided to me.
