Data swallowed... yet again

Hi

I was told to mail you with my 'query' after posting a complaint on your Facebook Page.

To be frank, I don't want any more politely worded messages from your clearly *********** social media department (who I take it is getting this mail, based on the address) I would like you to replace the data that you so kindly ****** me of.

In your feeble attempt to get this off of social media as quickly as possible, you failed to address any of the concerns that I pointed out to you. Before I get started on my complaint though, here are a few pointers for how NOT to p-off an already p-d off customer the next time that you receive a complaint.

Advise your employees to READ before responding. When a customer is told to do something that they made a point of illustrating they have already done, it is rather annoying.
Perhaps try not to talk to your customers as if they have been using a Nokia 3310 for the past 10 years, and have no knowledge of data management
When a client has had a terrible experience with data being swallowed in an obvious error on your part, a link to a blog post on 'tips to save data' may as well translate to 'we think you are an idiot with the technical capabilities of a wooden plank'

Anyway, enough of that. Since there are obvious communication errors and it is impossible for you to escalate a simple complaint from Facebook, I will highlight the issue that I have had with your service, and because I have better things to do then repeat myself to no avail, I will copy and paste the exact same thing that I posted to you before. Thanks a bunch for saving me time with your efficient negative feedback protocol.

"Seriously hacked off - this weekend I loaded airtime AND data on 3/4 occasions to the value of R150 + buying and loading 100 MB at a time, gone after sending a couple of WhatsApp messages! I am very conscious of my data usage on a day to day basis - my cellular data is switched off for ALL apps except WhatsApp, Wifi Assist and Data Roaming off. My budget allocation for the entire month used up in a couple of minutes, leaving me in a lurch. This needs to be resolved, or after 10 years I will take my business elsewhere and advise EVERYONE to do the same!

"
Hi Jesse-Lee

Have you checked your data usage info on your handset?

Do you have a data monitoring app?

You can also check out the below link for tips to save data:

https://myvodacom.secure.vodacom.co.za/.../top-tips-to...

I think I made it quite clear that this WAS NOT a case of negligent data usage. I monitor my usage regularly, and have data monitoring active. You cannot possibly try and cover up your failed service by telling me that WHATSAPP used 600 MB after the send of maximum 10 plain text messages. MY TOTAL data usage on this device after having it for over 6 months on Whatsapp is 647 MB, 500MB of which is probably from Wifi usage. I buy 500 MB a month, and it lasts me. You may be able to pull one over on most people, but I am someone who keeps a close eye on this kind of thing, and am very fami**** with all of the processes on my device. I am also aware that we as the consumer have nearly no way to prove this, and that you are all robbing us blind. This has happened to many people I know, it's a joke. Also, your response is plain insulting - thanks for your useless tips to save data, your 'top tip' number one was IMPOSSIBLE this weekend because my airtime was used up before I even have the chance to convert it into data!! PATHETIC.

Please give me my data back, so that I can use it to browse MTN's deals and be done with you lot.
