Data paid but never given to purchaser

On 9 March 2019 a sim card and data package was purchased for R240 by a traveller who was here in South Africa for a 3 week holiday. He paid CASH, was given the sim card and was given a notification on his cellphone that the data would be uploaded within 24 hours. He went away on holiday the next day. While on holiday he received no data. He contacted Vodacom telephonically and they stated that they could not see any registration of the purchase of R240 of data. Vodacom stated that we must contact the branch. This was duly done telephonically but branch stated that the manager Kevin was on holiday and that we should come into the branch when we returned from our holiday. This was done and there was no transaction ever recorded on the system of Vodacom. In effect the funds were pocketed by the employee. Please be very aware of this problem at this company. No refunds were ever given to this traveller who had to purchase his data from other sources. Response of the manager was very poor.
