Data has disappeared

On 21 August 2017 at roughly 20:30, I recharged with three prepaid Vodacom vouchers in the amount of R29.00, R29.00 and R12.00.

I then purchased more airtime with my FNB ebucks account in order to have a balance in the excess of R80.00 to buy the 1G bundle for 7 days.

I did this and waited for the "sms confirmation" which stated that my data bundle is valid until 27 August 2017. I checked my balance to ensure that the 1G reflects and it did.

15min after recharging at about 20:45, none of my Whatsapp messages were sending. I checked my balance and to my shock and disbelief THE ENTIRE 1G had completely disappeared. The only application I had used and opened since recharging was Whatsapp. There is NO WAY Whatsapp can take 1G of data in the space of 15min.

I restarted my phone to make sure that this isn't an error but this was to no avail as I still had no data or airtime.

I then recharged again with my FNB ebucks account in the amount of R10, only to find that the amount did not reflect on my airtime balance but deducted the amount from my ebucks account.

AGAIN I recharged with my ebucks account in the amount of R35.00, this time I bought 100mb of data and unsurprisingly, because this seems to be something Vodacom are now doing to loyal customers, my data was depleted within 5min of recharging only having used Whatsapp.

I'm actually frustrated and tired of the service Vodacom have given me, when I call in (which I have done previously regarding a similar issue) I was told "how to minimize data usage" and was told that Vodacom can't view my data usage. If this is the case, how do Vodacom deduct all this data if they can't actually see or prove your data usage?

I am elated that my contract is coming to an end on the 1st of September and will NEVER recommend Vodacom to any future customer as they unfairly deplete customers' data and can never furnish any proof or reasons when customers raise these issues.

I've had 5 different Vodacom consultants constantly phone me to "renew" my contract as its expiring soon. It's surprising when I have an enquiry or complaint, that Vodacom can't sort my issues out but when it's time to renew a contract then their employees are "on the ball".

I vow never again to take a contract out with Vodacom.
