Data dispute - call center service

I viewed my bill for September online and saw that I was charged for out of bundle data usage. Seemed very strange to me as I monitor my data on a daily basis and also have a limit set on my handset. Further I did not receive any notification from Vodacom that I did go over my data bundle. When one looks at my billing history you will also see I'm don’t go over my bundle often. In fact I think I went over it once this year in January by R26. and only because I saw the sms that Vodacom sent me too late. Back to my story. I called the call centre ( ********** ) on 01.11.16 at 9am. It took 20mins before someone assisted me. I was helped by a gentleman. He had a look on my account and advised that the only way that Vodacom can investigate this is by activating itemized billing. I refused as I won’t pay for Vodacom to investigate why I’m being billed out of bundle charges. I tried to explain my situation to the gentleman, and he kept advising that Itemized billing needs to be active that I can see what dates I went over on my data and then check my apps on my phone. I’m pretty sure with data being expensive Vodacom will have better systems in place to investigate data disputes. Further he advised me that the notification that Vodacom sends you was to promote data bundle purchases and that it is a courtesy sms. I asked the gentleman if I could speak to a superior or supervisor. I was put on hold where after 5 minutes my call was dropped. Its 10:22am and I still have not received a call back so I assume I won’t get one. Its actually quite funny. I've been a client with Vodacom since 2008, and are extremely loyal to the brand, however this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Surely a company claiming to be the best network in SA, should have better systems in place.
