Data Depletion! no assistance from contact centre

A few months ago i was on hellopeter to complain about data depletion. i am attaching my complaint below.

My previous complaint was resolved however this has started happening again.

I purchased a 5GB data bundle on Thursday 23 February 2017, i already had +- 700MB on the phone and topped up with the 5GB. i downloaded a few things on showmax which came up to 1.5GB which should have left me with atleast 4.2GB, alas when i checked my balance i had less than 500MB left on the phone - this was within the space of an hour.

I called into the contact centre and was given the same advice to close background apps etc, however after my last experience i do nothave any background apps running. I went into the store and downloaded all the things i was advised to i.e, a Data Usage Manager and Phone cleaner/antivirus .

I checked how much data my downloads would use before downloading them so i do not understand how all that data could just disappear.

I called into teh call centre twice and lodged this and was told each time that someone would give me a call... i am still waiting.

Previous post:

For the last week my data is depleting at an alarming rate.none of my habits have changed I am using the phone the same way I always have. Yesterday I recharged with 1GB of data and R110 airtime and it was gone in less than 12 hours.

I called Vodacom to check what the problem is and I was told by that 1. have automatic updates (which I don't have on my device because I deactivated them). 2.The speed of the internet I use is the problem.

The consultant I spoke to didn't want to listen to me instead she was talking while I was explaining to her.

I have had my phone for over two years now and I have never experienced such a problem with my data bundles.

She asked me to close all applications that were running in the background which is fine but still does not explain how I could have used that amount of data . We lodged a dispute.

i bought R30 airtime as soon as i got off the call and made two phone calls each lasting a minute and within 5 minutes that R30 was finished.

I called in again and was once again told that this is because of background applications (all closed), automatic updates (which I don't have), internet usage (I wasn't on the internet because I had been on a call with Vodacom and what website would use R30 worth of data in 5 minutes.

once again this consultant told me that it is my problem because of my usage. I asked her to lodge a dispute and she did not want to. We eventually lodged the dispute and she told me that I must not recharge the phone again because I will then just be calling their office to complain about my data being depleted. They will investigate and I can try to recharge after 48 hours.

This is highly frustrating because this would mean I am not able to use my phone for 48hours!!!

i am not impressed.
