Data depleted, no warning & communication of tech issue

Less than 24 hours ago I bought a gig of data(R149) and airtime(R110). I made several phonecalls - not so lengthy and had a fair amount of airtime remaining (about R50). I then used my phone to connect to the internet as usual. Today I downloaded a few things with the expectation that if data is about to run out I will get a warning like I usually do, absence of the warning sms gives me an impression I am far from depleting my available data. After seeing my Whatsapp massages not going through I checked my balances only to find both my data and airtime has been depleted. I proceeded to call customer care (082111) and the operator confirmed that there has been an issue since October which affected certain users. When I asked why this was not communicated like they always communicate other useless things - she proceeded to explain that it was only affecting certain users so they were waiting for them to log calls individually.

But Vodacom, if you have a technical issue such as this - why not notify all users so that those affected can be made aware so they can log calls? How many more people will lose their money and not know that this is an issue you have?Over and above that it has been made clear that I will not get back what I lost which I feel is unfair and nonsensical. Please return my data and airtime or prove that you warned me about my depleting balances! Also send out communication like you have been everytime we recharge we get two useless smses encouraging us to recharge soime to get free airtime which is also a **** on its own. If you really cannot help me please give me details on how I can further escalate my query. This is not right.

Communicating issues should be your first priority, make us aware so we also accommodate the problem.
