Damage Claim rejected as different sim card being used in the phone.
I have had my contract with Vodacom for the last 15 years. My recent contract i insured my handset device with Vodacom insurance. Recently it got damaged and I put in a claim and now they are rejecting the claim as i wasn't using the contracted vodacom sim card in that particular handset. It is ridiculous, i have being paying for insurance on a handset, it shouldn't matter what sim card i have in there. i am not paying insurance on the contract or sim card. I am paying insurance for the physical handset. Please all be aware of this when insuring a device through Vodacom Insurance

This doesn't help me and i still don't see how Vodacom or any other MNO can provide handset insurance with these types of restrictions. i just shows how monopolized the mobile networks are. That you can offer insurance with the thinking it has to be only with your sim card. It is crazy. Handset insurance should be just that, handset insurance as it would be if i had insurance through my household insurer.
The fact that you rep**** in private message and not public to say yes this is the case you only insure under these circumstances shows that you know it is wrong what you are doing and just bullying customers.

04 Feb 2020, 11:42just by the way, the email response i got from you referred to a Samsung 9 i had fixed in 2018. Just shows that you didnt even take this seriously as you couldnt even make sure that ypu responded with the correct information.
