Customers have to fix your inefficiencies...

I received an SMS to advise that my data bundle has run out and i purchased a new data bundle immediately as i did so many times before. Generally, the data bundles were activated within 2 minutes before. However, this time around, I called the Vodacom Customer Service Centre the first time just after 7pm on 24 May as I did not receive the data. I was informed by Lesego that i need to check within an hour which I did and still no data. I called again just after 10pm and was advised by Frances, that the data has still not be activated and i should rather not use the internet or else incur out-of-data bundle rates. Surely, as much as Vodacom has technical inefficiencies, they also would want the consumer to use their data as and when they want so they can reap the financial benefits thereof? Nonetheless, I called the Service Centre again this morning, and was informed by Vusi that the data bundle had still not be activated and he's not sure whether to activate the existing bundle or create a new one - not my problem as a customer, which i told him about and just wanted to use the data that i purchased. He placed me on hold for about 10 minutes and eventually my patience ran out and i cut the call. He returned the call and told me he did not know how to retrieve the call and kept apologising. Too may excuses Vodacom...get it right! I want the costs that i incurred when using the out-of-bundle rates to be credited to my account as I purchased the data bundle in due faith. Please train your staff to be more customer centric and not to focus on explaining the problem, but rather on giving the consumer the best solution that suits them.

Dear Vodacom,

The response above dates back to May 25 with a clear message that someone will call me - yet as at today, there has been no calls or response received. Get your act together Vodacom and don't overpromise yet undeliver - you will not be a sustainable business if you continue like this...SADLY!
