CUSTOMER SERVICE

Hi there,

I have been a loyal Vodacom customer for 20 yrs plus. Earlier this year I wanted to migrate, go onto a plan that offered me more what I needed. (more data and less sms' and call time). This process took me 4 months. 4 months of sending threatening and anger-driven e-mails, after which I was successful. During this whole period the migration fee was waved. Then getting my new account, i was charged for the migration which furiated me further. I then got in touch ith Jaco von Metzinger who assisted me quite efficiently and credited the migration off my account and promised my account would be debited correctly. I told Jaco that I won't be upgrading/renewing my contract when it is up for renewal. I am fedup with their service and quite honestly their rates are not comparative - they are one of the most expensive Service Providers in the World. End November I sent a mail to Vodacom customer care asking how I go about canceling my contract that expires 12 February 2017, I would like to retain my telephone number and reconfirmed my package I was on currently. I thereafter received an authentication e-mail to which I responded authenticating myself. Thereafter I received 2x system generated Quotes with ZERO value. Also on the same day and Angent tried to call me, but I was unavailable at that time. The Agent then sent me a mail confirming she tried to phone me, what contract I was on currently and she confirmed the cancellation quote was sent. (the zero value quotes I received x2). I then responded to the agent's mail asking the following:

I am sorry I missed your call.

I just want to clarify:

"Obviously there will be a debit order that will still go off end November/beginning of December
And then another invoice that will be due end December/beginning of January?
If I accept your quote when will my contract officially be cancelled and by when should I then start buying my own airtime/data?
Sorry for all the questions, but I’ve been with Vodacom a long time, and I am not sure how the cancellation works exactly?"

I then received a phone call from a male agent who told me that the 2x zero value quotes were system generated and it was done in ERROR. Well .... After my 4 months of battling to migrate and listening to all the sob stories about their system upgrade with Support being done from India or where ever, I just lost it. I am sick and tired of all the excuses and being a loyal customer for so long, paying the extreme rates Vodacom is charging and paying my account on time by debit order every month. I have just had it. I summarized my whole story on the 30th of November in an e-mail to Jaco (as previously mentioned) and copied the Shameel Joosub whom according to a "Google" is supposedly someone important at Vodacom. Please believe me if I tell you that no one bothered to reply or try and comfort me after the said mail was sent to Jaco. I am just really irritated and sick and tired of complaining about bad or non-existant service in our Country and not doing anything about it! I have the right to share good and bad service and this is exactly what I am doing. I had a wonderful experience this morning where I was enquiring on getting competitive quotes on my vehicle insurance and had a fantastic experience which I also shared on HelloPeter.

It's just such a shame ... I have been loyal for 20 years plus with Vodacom, but I have had it. I will rather pay more, by going over to pay-as-you-go than sit with a contract with a service provider that just takes and is not prepared to do anything to improve on their customer services and rates. I sure as hell cannot wait for February 2017 to come, then this contract will be history!

That's it from me ... Siging off now ....
