Customer Service

I am working in the Sanlam head office in Bellville. I went to the Vodacom shop in the Sanlam head office for convenience.

My number was supposed to be ported from Cell C to Vodacom last night. The port did not take place. I am now told that I can only sign my contract and get my phone after the port goes through. This means that they ‘hope’ the port to go through tonight and only want to issue me with my phone on Monday.

I explained in to the manager that this is completely unacceptable. I was promised that the port would go through last night. The fact that the port did not go through is not my problem as a customer. I also don’t believe that it should be my problem to call Cell C and enquire as suggested.

The manager, Teresa Botes, then called me insisting that I listen to all the same excuses I have gotten before, cancelled the port without my permission and told me to shop around the weekend and they would then see if they could help me on Monday. When I tried to explain that this was not an acceptable way to handle the situation she told me that she would not fight with me and put the phone down in my ear.

I then went down the shop where I was further bul**** by the manager.

This has been a frustrating, inconvenient and unpleasant experience.

Vodacom customer service is a joke.

I guarantee you that I will tell my story to anyone that is willing to listen.

Please note: I am not complaining about the sales assistant, Laverne Petersen, who has been extremely understanding and helpful under the current circumstances.
