'Customer Service'???

I am shocked how Vodacom deals with customers. I noticed my debit order did not go through on the day it normally does and after a few days I phoned them to enquire why. I got told that they had technical problems and the debit order did not go through. If they knew this why didn't they advise me of this? That is the decent thing to do. When I asked when it will go through I got told they will escalate this so it can be done. A few days before this I went to go get my upgrade and couldn't get it cos they didn't have the phone in stock that I wanted. According to the person I dealt with it will take 2 days but 4 days later I finally get the call that they have the phone. Then I get called a bit later to be told that my account is not paid and I can't get my upgrade. Surely there is communication internally about the technical problem? I explained the reason why and I got told that nothing can be done until the account is paid. Really? I have been a customer of Vodacom for over 10 years now and this is how I'm treated? I phoned customer service and I was assured by the person who helped me that they will take my account off hold so I can get my upgrade and apologised for the error. I phoned the branch and told them and I got told again that my account is still blocked and there is nothing they can do. I got no help at all by the person at the branch and it was obvious to me that she was not interested at all until my account is paid. My account has been paid on time every month for years and now because of a Vodacom problem I get treated like I don't pay? I find this unacceptable. It seems being loyal to a service provider means nothing so perhaps it is time to move on.....
