Somewhere in March 2020 I received a call from a Vodacom agent by the name of Frederichs. it was a typical " I have a great deal for you" kind of a call, as normal I would decline as polite as possible and trying to convince him why i am not the perfect person for the "deal". I remember saying to him I do not have the funds for the deal and to my surprise he said I am gonna pay less than what I am currently paying per month. Thought to told myself actually this might be a good deal after all, told him I am currently paying R313.98 and not looking to pay a cent more. He said that from the next invoice I am going to pay R170 and not taking away monthly services and on top of that receive 5GB of data, too good to be true I said and he quickly said I am one of the chosen clients based on how long I have been with the service provider. I remember asking him if all of this communication is on record to which his answer was a clear yes and asked on top of that whether will I receive the recording on request and another yes came from him. On that note I agreed to the "deal" and said he can proceed. March invoice came with the amount of R313.98 and thought to myself maybe it will kick in from April since it was already March when I signed up for the deal. 9th April 2020 invoice came and WOW the "great deal" is an addition to my monthly payment and total invoice is R635.75, more that %100 increase of my monthly payment. Immediately on seeing that called Vodacom customer care and spoke to Norah concerning this shocking news, she gave me an option to cancel this addition obviously I am taking it. She said that she is going to capture a query (billing issue) on my behalf to the relevant department and gave me a ref number *** and said I should receive feedback before the 15 April. 13 April (07:47) I receive an sms from vodacom and read "vodacom customer your query has been closed" what? how?. I called customer care again and spoke to Gift this time, he told me that Norah did not capture my query properly and he is going to do it right this time ref number ***. I asked him how to receive a copy of the initial "great deal"recording maybe I missed something there, he said I can only retrieve it from nearest vodacom shop contrary to what Frederichs has said. I feel vodacom has violated my consumer rights especially the right to Fair, Just and Reasonable Terms and Conditions also Right to Fair and Honest Dealing. I am highly disappointed and literally can't wait to run through my contract with this service provider.
