Credit Limit Softlocked Nightmare!

I am usually not one for writting reviews, but after my recent experience with Vodacom for the past 3 weeks I can think of nothing else to do.

It all started 3 weeks ago when I received an sms telling me that I had "reached my credit limit" and that my account was "softlocked". You can imagine my horror and surprise...I have a contract and had never been informed about a credit limit! It made no sense. I then phoned Vodacom and the person on the other line was also puzzled so I went to a Vodacom Care Centre. They expalained to me that all the Vodacom customers have been migrated onto a new system of some sort (I cannot remember the exact details, I apologise) and have since been getting many complaints of this credit limit issue.

The solutions that I was given was to ask Vodacom to increase this credit limit. This request was put in on the 8th of November. They said it would take 4-5 working days, and that someone would be in touch with me. I haven't heard a peep from them. To make matters worse, my phone is "softlocked" EVERY 24 hours (which means that I can't use my data or call anyone during this time) and I have to phone them everytime it happens for them to unlock my line. It is so inconvinient to say the least! You need at least 30-45 minutes on average to get through to someone. Now imagine calling them every day, for that amount of time from the 8th of November...every day. This is unacceptable!

Every time I phone them I enquire about my request to raise my credit limit and their response is that "it's still being processed"...wasn't it supposed to take 4-5 WORKING DAYS?!! They also can't give me contact details of the person in charge/manager that I can speak to. And there are no updates on my query so I have no idea of how far they are.

I've been with Vodacom for over 15 years, but after this experience I'm seriously thinking of switching to another mobile network.
