CPA breach Vodacom
I went in to do an upgrade on the 7th of September at Vodacom Kensignton Square, Durban North and was advised to take an Oppo phone. I made mention that I do not know this phone but was assured that it is a major brand and equivalent to Samsung. I returned home and contacted my son who immediately advised me that the phone is not an equivalent replacement to Samsung and not as well supported in SA. I returned the sealed box to the store the next morning (less than 24 hours) and said I would take a different model to which they are refusing to honour. CPA states that the consumer is protected in that they are advised accordingly and provided with quality goods and services which is a blatant breach. Furthermore they have advised me that the phone is now open and in there safe and that I opened it which is a complete fabrication of truth. To add more, they not only provided me with an inferior item but they also sold me a contract with half the airtime.
