COVID-19 Assistance Arrangment not honoured Account I0
I am presently unemployed and made an arrange to be covered by Vodacom's COVID-19 assistance on the 28th May 2020.
This was after not receiving UIF for both April and May 2020 due to the lock down that has been in place in SA.
The COVID 19 Assist Reference Number as per my email to Vodacom is
Reference Number: *** COVID 19 - Business Assist

Good Day Vodacom
I have run into some financial difficulty as my UiF for both April and May 2020 has not paid out.
This is due to the issues with COVID-19 and labour department not processing any of my Continuation of Benefit applications.
I have checked last night on UiF and both applications made on the 18th April 2020 and 14th May 2020 are still in a Sent To Paymaster State.
I have been unemployed as of 1 November 2019 after losing my job at Capitec Bank. Between November and February I used my pension to pay my account ahead a bit and then eventually only received UiF at the end of February and the last payment on the 24th March 2020. With the challenges of not finding employment as yet and also no UiF Payment I cannot pay my bill for July which is at R1723.84 as per the attached invoice.
The attached invoice has an amount of R1880.15
I am not 100 % sure as to when the UiF will payout hence emailing you for assistance.
My contact details are as follows

It was confirmed on the 29th May that Vodacom would cover me for the month provided I paid the R1800 when I received UIF again.
On the 19th June 2020 I paid the outstanding R1800.
According to Brint in collections I am in arrears as my line was never suspended and I am now liable to pay R3749.71 .
According to my understanding of the arrangement Vodacom covering me would cover the one month for June which would mean by paying the R1800 I would be all squared.
Brint is insistent that the line was never converted to prepaid nor suspended hence the COVID-19 assist arrangement is not valid.
I however beg to differ as Vodacom confirmed on Friday 29th May 2020 telephonically that the arrangement is binding.
I paid the R1800 due as agreed why is my account still in arrears?
I do believe that I actually should be settled but if the request was never actioned from Vodacom's side correctly, then I actually should not be liable as it is a slip up on Vodacom's end.
I made due diligence to inform Vodacom of my situation. They agreed to assist. I paid in good faith that the arrangement would cover me.
However this does not seem to be the case and I cannot pay R3700 up front as I still am not employed and have other commitments to honour outside of Vodacom on R4000 that UIF will pay out in July.
If this cannot be resolved I am cancelling my contract and also my Fibre order with Vodacom and returning the router that has already been delivered.
Regards
Craig Wentzel one honest client that is ****ed off at now being made liable for an arrangement that is now up in smoke.
I need someone to contact me today. I have now received an SMS asking for a payment R1803.99.
This is now getting absolutely ****en ridiculous.
I was assured I was covered on the COVID-19 Cover as per the following COVID Application reference made on the 28th May *** COVID 19 - Business Assist
Vodacom confirmed on the 29th May 2020 that the agreement was in place and that you would cover me for one month.
I paid you guys as agreed R1800 on the 20th June. My question is why am I still in arrears when you agreed to cover me on the COVID-19 cover mentioned above.
I do not foresee having R1800 in the next 5 days.
I also do not foresee that I am in arrears as the agreement was confirmed from your end.
I agreed and held my end of the bargain.
I want this cleared as I am not paying you arrears as in my books this is settled.

After 2 unsuccesful calls I lost it with Karabo and he suspended my line.
I am extremely unhappy with this as there was an arrangement in place to cover me for June.
Now it seems that I have not followed protocol nor kept my side of the bargain.
I am going to once this is done cancel all my contracts with Vodacom.
I did due diligence to inform you of not receiving income.
I was advised to apply for the COVID-19 cover on the 28th May 2020
There is the evidence below that I have app**** for the benefit.

I was assured on the 29th May that Vodacom could cover me but no one suspended my line or converted it to prepaid ? So if that is a failiure on your end why must I the consumer suffer due to incompetence.
This is absolutely not on. If I have indicated and followed protocol and was advised and assured on being covered why now must I be nailed for an arrears account.
I want a response immediately.
