couldnt fix my 1 month old tablet no parts

i took out a contract with vodacom the vodacom smart tab 3 my phone fell and the screen cracked i then took it into the vodacom customer care to be booked in and fixed , the girl at customer care told me they cant fix it because they dont have parts for the phone and that i can give them my tablet pay a R1000 and get a 2nd hand tablet i mean really my tablet was 1 month old the value for a new one is r1000 now i must pay a r1000 for a second one. why manufacture a tablet but not have parts for it doesnt make sense to me
