Corporate bully's with clueless legal teams
I app**** for a home loan to which I was told I have an amount outstanding with Vodacom. I start the query process and get told to go to 5 different stores before someone is actually willing to help.
They then see it was handed over to legal. We phoned legal who said they cant see anything because it was handed to the debt collections company and that everything on the system was greyed out (which is total BS because I will sitting with the branch manager looking at my full account with all amounts and details!!!).
We call the debt collections company from which we ask for a detailed statement. They then say Vodacom has to give us a statement, and Vodacom say only the debt collection company can hand out information.
I am then told my outstanding amount is almost triple what I actually. I query this and they said you can either pay the full amount or hang up the phone. The branch manager then takes the phone and speaks to them requesting a statement. They keep refusing to send a statement.
The brand manager and I then dig and find the actual outstanding amount and give that to the debt collections company. The debt collections company says I mustn’t listen to the branch manager because they don’t have accurate information on the system. They keep refusing to send me a statement.
During the digging at the branch we find out there are 2 more months of the contract left and she told me when to call to issue cancellation notice. The debt collection company then turns around and says they have automatically extended the contract and I still have 8 months left on my contract, even though the Vodacom system shows I took out a 24-month contract as of Dec 2017, which matches the 2 month remaining.
The debt collection company then says I have to pay 8 months’ worth of payments upfront to which I refused.
They then said they will not give me any recognition of payment unless the full amount is settled, which includes paying 8 months in advance. They refused to accept my payment of the outstanding balance.
I then queried the repayment of the outstanding amount only owed to Vodacom (which I was wanting settle) and they confirmed that all airtime, data and services from those outstanding months have already been deleted off the contract so nothing will be received once settled. I.e. I will be back-paying for services not rendered by the service provider.
I finally get a statement out of the debt collection company and they true as bob have an outstanding amount that matches when we gave them from the Vodacom system that they said was wrong.
Your legal team **** to my face, which makes you look like the idiots you clearly are. Your debt collection company need to learn to understand the international language of English and are total bullies (well they try) and you are embarking on unconstitutional activities by not delivering for services that are being paid for, extending a contract without consumer consent and for wanting bill a consumer in advance for services not rendered. I say services because the outstanding hardware cost is R400 which is proof your costs are for services not rendered.
