Copy of my contract

What kind of company withholds a copy of a person’s contract? That Company would apparently be Vodacom. It has been almost a month since my first request for a copy of my contract and I am still yet to receive any documentation.

Here are the facts:
I upgraded to a Samsung S7 Edge and only after 2 weeks of having the phone, I cracked the screen. Samsung, being a helpful company, is willing to fix the screen but of course they require a copy of my contract and the original receipt or invoice. Sounds almost too simple right? Well apparently it is too complicated for Vodacom to comprehend.

I followed procedure, phoning Vodacom directly and securing a reference number (1- ********** 6021) for my contract – this was on the 5th of August 2016. I was then told to send documentation to ********** I did. I heard nothing – I emailed 6 more times. Again, a simple process becoming a monumental task.

It was only on the 12th of August 2016 that I received a SMS stating that I need to fax the documents to ********** 082. Again, I comp**** and as seems to be the way of Vodacom, I heard nothing.

On the 16th of August, desperate for some form of communication, I spoke to a lady from Vodacom online. She assured me she would open up a new query, which she did, using the ref no: 1- ********** 2985.

It is now the 24th of August and I still have no feedback or the documents I require.

Someone please explain to me how a simple task has become such a headache. Why do we, as paying customers, need to beg for service?

Disgraceful.
