Contract renewal/upgrade (retentions)

I called to cancel my contract in Dec 2015 and was asked why. I told the consultant that i wanted to cancel because Vodacom would no longer offer my PROMO Data (1gig) on my contract. I was asked, \should Vodacom continue my package as is (incl 1gig Promo data) would i stay and upgrade/renew my contract for another 24 months. I agreed and was happy to continue on that basis.
