Contract not set up correctly...How is this our fault?

My Mum and I recently went to Incredible connections to buy a laptop, we were convinced by the nice lady to get a 3G Vodacom contract with the laptop. Which we agreed to.

The consultant at incredible connections did not cap the data to 3G or a "Top-up" as they call it. In May my mum is charged R1500 for a R499.00 contract. They tell her that this is because we had exceeded our data spend and that we were using out of bundle rates. They also say they would have sent an SMS to inform us that the data had been depleted.

I own a Telkom contract of 100G a month, when my data is finished, it is FINISHED. I decide whether I want to top up or not. With Vodacom it doesn't work that way, they keep on charging you for data until they block your account because you have spent too much money? R2000? Are serious? Why would one willingly do that to themselves.

Whilst using the data you are never not notified it has depleted. They claim you have but they forget the sim card sits inside a modem not a cellphones!! If it is a 3G contract it should be freaking CAPPED AT 3G. Stop charging my mum over and above without telling her! Then you tell her to download the app to track my data spending and top up when it is done, Why not give us all the information when the contract is being opened?

Vodacom has done this for two months! Why was a CAP not app**** back in May like we had been promised it will? Now you say you will provide a credit of 50% for good faith? That is complete *******, doing so is an admission of guilt on your part. She should not be paying for your freaking mistake. It isn't our fault that you don't train your consultants properly. 50% is not enough, because this issue was your error not ours. CAP the damn thing at 3G, Fix your mistake, set up the contract correctly and stop causing us stress.

Thank you for fixing the issue.

I would like to suggest that if vodacom is going to use thirs parties to issue out contracts on their behalf they should ensure these intermediaries are well trained. If not, Vodacom will continue to fix issues that they didn't directly cause.
