Contract expired- Debit orders still deducted
Good day, On the 17/09/2018 I took out a 24 month wifi contract from our local Vodacom 4U shop (acc no:I*** & cell:***). I was billed the 09/10/18 as I made a pro rata payment of R400.52. The contract was for a 30GB day and 30GB night for R349 per month. Note that Vodacom never issued me with a written contract.
On the 25/8/20 I called Vodacom Call Centre to inform them of my intent to cancel the contract. The agent informed me to call the 05/09/20. I only saw afterwards that the date was on a Saturday and that their Call Centre was not operational on weekends.
Reference 0026FaFMXUDPJ4H1, the agent (Nosipho Magqagqona) tried to assist me via the e-mail channel, but to no avail. She also gave me a call. The 30th September 2020 debited my bank account with R373.00.
On the 01/10/2020 I went to the Vodacom 4U shop in Paarl. The consultant called the Call Centre and after dropping the call while processing my request, I had to speak to another agent that I understood said to me, in order for the the SIM card and WIFI-modem to work I should take out a contract of R40.00. I initially thought my daughter wants to use the SIM and we are going to need the modem for our new service provider, so I agreed under duress. On the 31/10/2020 another R373.00 was deducted from account.
I had to make loans to cover my other expenses. On the 02/11/2020 I went to the Vodacom 4U shop again, where I was advised to cancel the R40.00 contract to stop the R373.00 debit order. Again, I called the Call Centre (I***) promised to received a call within next week. Today, is the 10/11/2020, no call / email was received.
Please stop the account as I suffer financially. Please reimburse as I feel that my term had expired and Vodacom is not doing business in good faith.
Kind regards, Reg
